At the heart of LifeTown is the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg (of Baltimore, Maryland) LifeVillage. Stepping through its doors, you enter a magical place. In this incredibly realistic, 5,000 square-foot indoor city, children with special needs will be able to "learn by doing" and prepare to eventually integrate into society. Through role-play, they will practice important life skills, such as waiting in a doctor's office, shopping in a drug store, and doing the laundry. They'll also learn important safety rules, discover the rewards of teamwork and socialization. Best of all, they'll have a great time. |
